Share a few ways to remove 304 stainless steel dust.

Using oxalic acid

Oxalic acid can completely restore the rust, turning the rust into ferrous oxalate. After being washed with water, it becomes as bright as a new one. And the surface metal treated with oxalic acid has been passivated and isn’t easy to get rust again.

Remove with steel washing water

Wet the rusted part of the steel basin with clean water, and use a cotton swab or cotton cloth dipped in a little steel water to wipe off the rusted part. Clean it within 10s after wiping the molten steel to prevent the product from changing color. Finally, clean it with clean water again and dry it with a cloth.

Rust Reason

The surface of stainless steel accumulates dust containing other metal elements or attachments of heterogeneous metal particles. In humid air, the condensed water between the attachments and stainless steel connects these two into a micro-battery, which triggers an electrochemical reaction and makes the protective film is damaged. This is called electrochemical corrosion.

Organic juices (such as vegetables, noodle soup, etc.) adhere to the surface of stainless steel. In the presence of water and oxygen, organic acids will be formed by the organic juices. For a long time, Organic acids will corrode the metal surface.

The surface of stainless steel adheres to substances containing acids, alkalis, and salts(such as alkaline water and lime water sprayed on walls) to cause local corrosion.

In polluted air (There is a large number of sulfides, oxides, and hydrogen oxides in the atmosphere), when it encounters condensed water, it will form liquid points of sulfuric acid, nitric acid, and acetic acid. These are causing chemical corrosion.
